On this particular remodelling job, Watertown started off with a very structurally sound pool. Our customers wanted to bring the pools technology up to today’s standards. We also installed some features that were not available when the pool was originally installed. The concrete was pulling and cracking away from the coping in areas which is normal for a pool of this age.
As Watertown jack hammered the concrete deck out it exposed the c-frame deck and wall supports. This type of framing members aren’t normal on all pools, but are still the very best for supporting the pool deck. When you see a pool deck tilting or falling away from the pool coping, you will know it does not have this quality of braces. Watertown removed and replaced the skimmer with a top quality wide mouth Hayward skimmer. All new Hayward returns were installed along with an extra one in the middle of the pool for better circulation, heating and chemical distribution. New filtration lines were run complete from pool to filtration system. Thick mill PVC coping was installed for the liner and lock in winter cover.
Watertown installed two aqua lights with dual transformers located with the filtration system. One is located in the deep end and the other is in the shallow end. The lights were installed on the side of the pool closest to the house to light the pool at night and not be seen from the house. A 6’French curve fibre-glass stair was installed. Concrete deck was formed, prepped and ready for a new concrete pool deck. Filtration system, along with heater was relocated inside and completely plumbed in PVC. New liner was installed, chemicals adjusted and our customers were very happy with their new swimming pool.
