When the installation process is completed, the brass anchors for the tension springs need to be installed at set intervals around the perimeter of the pool. The surrounding pool deck can be constructed with many different materials such as concrete, flagstone, paving stone, etc.
The first two photos show a company that did not have the proper equipment for core drilling stone correctly resulting in the damage that you see. The next six photos are anchors Watertown installed in a customer’s flagstone deck. As you see our core drilling process leaves a perfect hole with no damage what so ever. Having the correct equipment and experience is more costly but the difference we feel is well worth it.

This is an example of an older fibreglass stair that had many cracks and bubbles on the top gel coat surface. All imperfections were prepped, repaired then the entire step was re-gel coated. As you can see there was quite a difference in the appearance of the before and after photos. This type of repair is easier to complete at the time of replacing the liner but could be completed at any time.
Watertown would be more than happy to come and give you a free estimate on any repairs that you might want resolved. Any cracks or faults in your coping can also be repaired in the same manor.

As seen through these series of pictures, the difference that the power washing makes on the look of the concrete & stone is amazing. This type of cleaning is not needed on a yearly basis, but the area where the customer lives dictates this. The difference is dramatic when you see the before and after.
When there are trees surrounding the pool area, it adds to the debris dropped & washed out to the concrete and stone below. Trees hold & catch a tremendous amount of dust and pollutants. When we have rain, the chemicals, dirt, etc., are washed into your pool and onto your surrounding deck. Pools without trees in the immediate area are much easier to maintain.

In this section, you can see after a long winter the pool are usually a mess. All covers are either power washed or disinfected and scrubbed with soap. If customer has water bags they are cleaned, rolled and ready for storage. Complete pool deck is cleaned and all stains removed. All trim is inspected before installation. Any parts we feel that are damaged or dangerous are replaced. (Example railing/ladder/escutcheon plates/ladder bumpers/etc.) If it is a larger item we will discuss with the customer first. Water chemistry will be tested and adjusted accordingly. All leaves and debris will be removed from the pool. Filtration system will be inspected and left completely operational. If we see any problems we will inform the customer.
The clarity of the water is not perfect until we super chlorinate and the system circulates. If the customer would like the cover and winterizing material stored somewhere specific we’ll have that info in our very detailed work orders. Another very important factor is that Watertown strongly recommends installing a cover under a safety cover. Many of the companies will explain that their customers will save money on only having to have one cover (safety) instead of the two.
With our experience this information is not correct. A safety cover is designed for safety and looks. It does keep leaves, debris and animals out of our pool during the off season but not any moisture. Most of these covers are porus or even the solid one has a drain area. The water chemistry will be way off because all the rain, snow, ice and pollutants pass right through. This will decrease the life of your liner dramatically. If you have a concrete pool your mar cite finish, tile, grout, and joints will start to disintegrate much earlier. You will spend much more money in the long run in repairs and chemical cost to bring the water chemistry back.
